Material group 02
– Elastic materials
Elastic materials are the most important group of materials for the majority of seals. Due to their rubber-elastic behaviour, they can accommodate changes in shape already during installation. They can bridge deviations from the geometric shape of the surfaces to be sealed and bring about an automatic sealing effect. Elastic materials belong to four major groups: Elastomers, Thermoplastic Elastomers, Thermoplastics and Fabric Materials.
